Pixel art and sprites, in your browser
Draw with crisp pixel-perfect tools, build characters from layers, animate them frame by frame with onion skin, and export GIFs and sprite sheets for your game. Your work never leaves your device.
Works in a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari, with a mouse, a pen or a finger.
Every pixel exactly where you put it
Characters, tiles, icons, game sprites: the tools pixel artists reach for, without installing anything.
Pixel-perfect lines
Freehand strokes without doubled corners, clean 2:1 lines, symmetric circles at every size.
Layers and blend modes
Groups, opacity, multiply, screen, overlay and the rest, reference layers for sketches.
Animation
A timeline of frames with durations, onion skin, tags for each move, linked cels, a live preview.
Palettes and dithering
Indexed colour, shading along a ramp, ordered dithering patterns and gradients without new colours.
Ready for your game
Sprite sheets with a JSON of frames, durations and tags; scaled PNGs; animated GIF and PNG.
Private, and never lost
No upload, no account. Every change is kept in your browser, so a closed tab loses nothing.

Questions
Is Pixelight free?
Yes. Pixelight is free to use, with no account and no sign-up.
Are my drawings uploaded?
No. Pixelight runs entirely in your browser and saves to your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I use it for game sprites?
Yes. Export a sprite sheet with a JSON file listing every frame, its duration and your tags, in the layout most game engines read.
Does it work with a pen or on a tablet?
Yes. Pixelight reads pen pressure and the pen's eraser, and touch gestures pan and zoom.
